Graduating from Mount Holyoke College magna cum lade with a degree in political science, Bond planned on a career in public service. Those plans changed when she was working as an assistant at an equal rights nonprofit and asked to also keep the books.  She was good at it and a new career path was born.
 
Today, Bond has management and oversight responsibility for NeighborWorks' average annual budget of approximately $250 million. She develops and executes the corporate budget-planning process and oversees contracts administration and financial management of all sources of funds, including ensuring compliance with agreements, budget development and monitoring, and financial analysis.
 
Prior to joining NeighborWorks, Bond worked for more than 20 years with national and international grant-funded nonprofit organizations, serving as the primary contact for budget and financial information for a variety of federal agency and private foundation funders.
 
Bond says that NeighborWorks is the perfect place for her.  She has a strong belief in the organization's mission and possesses the skill set needed to help the organization achieve it.
 
Her daily reminder of the NeighborWorks mission is a picture of a group of children helped by a network organization that she keeps near her desk. She says, “Whenever I get frustrated, I just look at that picture and remember what I’m working to achieve.”
