Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Tom Chabolla is executive vice president and chief operating officer of NeighborWorks America. He oversees the organization’s division of Field Operations, National Initiatives, the NeighborWorks Services Group (including Training), and Organizational Assessment.
Prior to becoming executive vice president and COO, Chabolla oversaw the field operations of the organization’s five regional offices and grantmaking process across the United States. He was responsible for a network of community development organizations and for building broader partnerships to strengthen the organization’s mission.
Prior to joining NeighborWorks, Chabolla served as assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff at the Service Employees International Union. Prior to that, he was the associate director for programs at the Catholic Campaign for Human Development at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, where he managed educational programs, community organizing and grantmaking for economic development. He also served in different positions at the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including director of the Secretariat for Pastoral and Community Services and the Office of Justice and Peace, where he oversaw policy, partnerships and programmatic work.
A Los Angeles native, Chabolla received a bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and holds a master’s degree from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA.
