Senior Vice President, Information Technology and Services
Wayne Bowman didn't see his first computer until college, but that was enough. He's made a career of working in information technology and project management.
"It never gets stale, says Bowman, "Every project is a puzzle and it's incredible how much has changed since I started."
For more than 30 years, Bowman has worked in the private sector. He has served as risk management systems director at Marriott International, senior director of the Laureate Education IT project management office and, most recently, senior PMO at Amtrak.
Bowman joined NeighborWorks America as the leader of a new Project Management Office, a role that quickly allowed him to see and direct projects spanning the entire organization, and which gives him the freedom to build out new systems to meet stakeholder needs.
Bowman's switch to a nonprofit has been a pleasant one. "The folks here are very committed to improving lives. It's an altruistic atmosphere."
Bowman holds a bachelor's degree from James Madison University, a master's degree from the University of Maryland University College and a Project Management Professional certification. He is a current member and past president of the Lion's Club, an organization dedicated to helping the visually impaired.
