Helping low- and moderate- income earners build financial security
The Census Bureau announced last week the U.S. poverty rate decreased 1.2 percentage points. The nation’s official poverty rate in 2015 was 13.5 percent, with 43.1 million people in poverty. This is 3.5 million fewer than in 2014. For many families, proper support is critical to emerging out of poverty. NeighborWorks organizations provide a variety of services that teach people how to set financial goals and build toward them with confidence.
