Resident Services

If your organization is focused on directly providing, or partnering to provide, a range of services to the residents of multi-family affordable housing properties, programs might include:
  • Fitness classes and events
  • Social activities and outings
  • Nutrition classes and community gardening
  • Financial coaching
  • Homecare assistance
  • Social activities and outings
  • Health screening and fall prevention training
  • Physical accommodations for aging in place

Some of the outcomes that you might expect from this suite of programming are:
  • Improved health for individuals
  • Increased financial stability
  • Ability to live independently for longer periods of time
  • Decreased stress

Success Measures Tools

Tools that could be used to evaluate these outcomes include:
  • Disease Management (resident survey)
  • Receiving Care from Others (resident survey)
  • Financial Stability (resident survey)
  • Interior of Residence: Resident Perception (resident survey)
  • Relaxation and Stress Management Behavior (resident survey)

Data from using these tools would help organizations understand which services are most effective in helping seniors manage their health and aging, as well as better understand seniors’ satisfaction with the services they receive. Additionally, data on the financial stability of families and their perceived levels of stress would allow practitioners to assess community residents’ financial condition and stress-related health risks, tailor interventions to support residents’ financial and health goals, and provide direct feedback to residents about their progress in achieving those goals.
