Brandon Marcele Spencer Primus, J.D., M.P.A., Senior Director of Race, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) , NeighborWorks America

As NeighborWorks America’s Senior Director of Race, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) Brandon Primus works with NeighborWorks’ leaders to create and execute initiatives that foster inclusivity, education, awareness, engagement and a sense of belonging across the organization. Part of his efforts include providing guidance to staff and NeighborWorks network organizations on crucial matters related to employee engagement, community outreach and change management.

Brandon joins NeighborWorks America with over a decade of success in leading Race, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (REDI) strategies with various organizations in many capacities. Brandon's journey in REDI started as a law school student specializing in Critical Race Theory. This academic discipline provided the analytical framework and the scholarship necessary to understand nuanced, systemic issues within the REDI space and cultivated the practical skills required to apply them effectively to the workplace and society more broadly.

After receiving his Juris Doctor, Brandon joined Congresswoman Susan Davis [CA-53] as a Community Liaison. As a Community Liaison, Brandon worked with diverse communities within the Congressional District. He applied the REDI concepts learned in Law school to develop practical, impactful, innovative, and engaging diversity-based community programming in the 53rd Congressional District.

Brandon is a native of Shreveport, LA. He received his Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from - the Columbia University School of International Public Affairs (SIPA), Juris Doctor (JD) - at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Bachelor of Music (BM) - in Music Business Management - at Berklee College of Music. Diversity and Inclusion Certification - Cornell University (eCornell); Corporate Sustainability Certification - Cornell University (eCornell).
